Foreign Language Placement Test

Foreign Language Placement Test

Description The Foreign Language Placement Test (FLPT) is an exam taken by University of Missouri students for placement in language classes (no credit is awarded until subsequent language classes are passed satisfactorily). FLPT is currently offered in Spanish, German and French. The FLPT is not timed; it is a multiple-choice adaptive computer based exam.
Eligibility Only University of Missouri students are eligible to take the FLPT. Students are not permitted to retake this exam.
Registration The FLPT is offered Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 2:00. Please call (573) 882-4801 to sign up for a specific date. Advanced registration is required.
Fees The current fee for the FLPT is $30.00, which is due on the day of the test. We accept cash, as long as it is the exact change, checks, and money orders made payable to the University of Missouri.
Day of Test A valid photo I.D. is required on the day of the test.
Score Reports Students will obtain test scores immediately after completion of the test. Scores will be mailed to Admissions at MU in approximately 5 days.

MMPT
                      - Missouri Math Placement Test

Missouri Math Placement Test

Description The Missouri Math Placement Test (MMPT) is an internal, paper-based exam for incoming freshman and and transferring students. The test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes. A score of 26 or higher is required to receive credit. Calculators are NOT allowed on this test.
Eligibility Please check with your advisor on your eligibility prior to taking the test. If you have already taken Math 10 and failed, you are NOT eligible to take the MMPT.
Registration The MMPT is offered Monday through Friday, between 8:30 and 2:00. Please call (573) 882-4801 to sign up for a specific date. Advanced registration is required.
Fees The current fee for the MMPT is $45.00 due on the day of the test. We accept cash, as long as it is the exact change, checks, and money orders made payable to the University of Missouri.
Day of Test A valid photo I.D. is required on the day of the test.
Score Reports MMPT test results are mailed to examinees in approximately 10 days following the test and simultaneously to Admissions at MU.

Math Placement Exam for College Algebra

Description The Missouri Placement Exam for College Algebra (MPECA) is an internal, paper-based exam. The test is designed to test the examinee's ability in algebra. To place in College Algebra ( Math 1100 or in Math 1120, a student must achieve on the MPECA a scaled score of 22 or above out of 47 possible scaled points. Students whose scaled score is 21 or below, place in Intermediate Algebra, or Math 110. The MPECA is 90-minute timed exam, consisting of 75 multiple choice questions, all equally weighted. No calculators are allowed on this exam and there is no penalty for guessing.
Eligibility Please check with your advisor on your eligibility prior to taking the test. If you have already taken the exam you must wait one full academic year before taking the exam again.
Registration The MPECA is offered periodically throughout the semester, generally during welcome periods.
Fees Students are eligible to take the exam free of charge during certain periods. If taken on an alternate date, the current fee for the MPECA is $45.00 due on the day of the test. We accept cash, as long as it is the exact change, checks, and money orders made payable to the University of Missouri.
Day of Test A valid photo I.D. is required on the day of the test.
Score Reports MPECA test results are emailed to examinees in approximately 2 days following the test and simultaneously to Admissions at MU.
